• Capital Campaign
The “Our Community…Our Health” Campaign is a rare opportunity to assist your neighbors in a manner that will resonate with them physically, emotionally and economically. And you will know with confidence that your contribution has made a significant, consequential difference in the lives of others.
To better serve our community, CHDI is currently in the second phase of a capital campaign. Funds raised will be used to construct a three-building Center for Community Wellness in Uvalde. The Center represents the expansion of much needed services and will enable CHDI to serve 14,000 patients annually.

Through the Wellness Center, CHDI will 1) Provide three times as many Dental Care visits to thousands of additional patients each year; 2) Offer twice as many Health Education Classes for people suffering from chronic illness like diabetes; 3) House the only comprehensive and affordable Mental/Behavioral Health Department in our community; 4) Provide a new Exercise/Fitness Facility to promote physical activity and improve outcomes for chronically ill clients plus the population at large; and 5) Provide for a new Electronic Health Records technology and administrative program space.

With assistance from friends, families and colleagues who recognize the value and critical need for improved health services in our community, CHDI has successfully secured 94 percent of the funds needed to complete Phases II & III. These commitments from private foundations, governmental agencies, individuals and other entities demonstrate the value of our project.
Your support and contribution is needed to complete the winning stretch. We are so close to meeting our goal for Phases II & III that with a little help from our friends we can certainly make the Wellness Center and the wonderful services it represents a reality for our community.

• Volunteering
CHDI volunteers are warm and caring individuals who give back to their community. Volunteers offer their time, talent and dedication through patient contact and clerical settings providing an extra dimension of care to our patients and families.
Our volunteers come from unique backgrounds but are commonly interested in helping others. The care they provide is invaluable to patients and staff.
There are a variety of volunteer roles to fit individual time schedules, abilities and interests. Volunteers may work directly with patients, behind-the-scenes in clerical positions, or assist in special events.
