FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

How do I qualify to become a CHDI patient?

There are no restrictions or eligibility requirements to receive care at a CHDI health center. We provide care for anyone, regardless of income, residency status, employment, health insurance coverage or ability to pay for services. You do not have to be a resident of any specific city, county or area to access our services.

How long do I have to pay my bill?

CHDI charges a minimum $18 for medical services and $30 for dental services prior to treatment for those not covered by insurance. For additional charges, payment is due upon receipt of services. Please contact the Billing Department at (830) 278-7105 to discuss possible payment arrangements.

What do I need to do if my insurance coverage changes?

Visit your closest CHDI health center location and provide a copy of the new insurance. Or you may call the Billing Department at (830) 278-7105.

Do I need to change my PCP (primary care provider) to Community Health Development, Inc. on my insurance plan?

Many health insurance plans require you to indicate a primary care provider. In order for CHDI providers to provide care payable by your insurance, we request you establish CHDI as your PCP.

What if I need to speak to someone after regular business hours?

If you are in a life-threatening emergency, call 911. If not, to speak with a nurse after hours (after 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday, or on Sunday), please call (830) 278-7105 for medical care and (830) 278-3765 for dental care and follow the instructions to be connected.
